As part of our commitment to privacy, we have established procedures to ensure that your information is handled responsibly and in accordance with applicable data protection and privacy laws.

In accordance with EU Regulation 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of the European Union of 27.04.2016 General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and, other applicable legislation, with respect to processing personal data and free movement of such data, the Client authorises / does not authorise the personal data collected, transmitted or processed by Algarve Homes to be included into their database. This data is intended for administrative, statistical and, for the presentation of marketed products and services.

As the longest established real estate agency in the Algarve, Algarve Homes (Algarve Homes - Sociedade de Mediação Imobiliária, Lda., with fiscal nº.  504599321 and AMI License Nº175), we take your privacy and personal information very seriously. We have two offices: one in the charming picturesque village of Santa Bárbara de Nexe and, the other in the busy country market town of Sâo Brás de Alportel.

The purpose of this page is to allow you to understand why we use your information and, how you can always opt out at any stage. This policy has been in effect from 25th May 2018 and, there may be some changes from time to time so please check this page occasionally for your purpose.

What information do we collect?

We collect this information for our own understanding and, to understand what you, as the client want and, for our own marketing purposes. When you register on our website or, via one of our offices we will need to know…

  • Your name
  • Your contact information including email address, telephone etc...

Once contact has been made, we will need to establish further information such as…

  • Your home/location address (i.e. where you are from, country).
  • Property Interests (location, type of property).
  • Your reasons for buying in the Algarve.
  • How you found out about us?
  • Other information (for our surveys, newsletters)

As Algarve Homes engages in financial transactions, you may be asked to provide additional information, such as personal and financial information required to process those transactions. In each case, we only collect as much information as is necessary or appropriate, for fulfilling our legal obligations, to refrain from suspicions operations that may be funded by the means resulted from money laundering and terrorism financing.

You can always refrain from providing such information, with the caveat that it may prevent you from engaging in certain activities provided through Algarve Homes.

We will not sell or share your personal information to any outside parties, except for compliance with legal obligations.

Selling a property: If we are selling a property, we are legally obliged to check the owner’s identification and fiscal numbers. This information is stored electronically and/or in paper format and we are obliged to keep copies of this for 5 years from the date the contract is signed.

Buying a property: if you are purchasing a property, then we are obliged to keep records of the sale, which include the amounts paid, methods of payment and details of the persons making the payments. These records have to be kept for 7 years and, this is to satisfy our legal requirements contained within the money laundering regulations. Details of both the vendor and purchaser are recorded.

We cannot delete this information within the legal timescales imposed upon us.

You automatically consent to providing your information on our “Enquiries” and “Contact us” page by ticking the box: “I authorise the use of my personal data for the purposes described in this website's Privacy Policy” page.

On our website we use cookies, once you open our page you will notice on the bottom of the page a pop-up note stating our use of cookies and whether or not you accept. A cookie is a http: file which asks permission to be placed into your computer's hard drive, it will allow us to understand your likes, dislikes and the number of website page visits you make.

As a final note, you can always opt out of our registration data base.

If you had previously agreed in our terms and, filled out your contact information and, wish to not have your personal information on file, you can simply send us an email at  and explain this and we will agree to delete your information from our records.
